Boost Your Immune System with Chiropractic Care!

Quite a few patients have asked my opinion re the issue of vaccinations due to the measles scare. While this particular topic will take up several newsletters to be able to discuss thoroughly, please know that regardless of the challenges that this decision may bring to parents and others, everyone can defend the position, as do I, that a healthy immune system can defend against dis-eased assaults, whether it be measles, a winter/spring cold or flu or other more serious health conditions.
Many people choose to discuss the effectiveness vs the threat of immunizations or other medications which try to prevent illness, I choose to educate those who feel that there is a need for an alternative - and who have found their solution through chiropractic care, which I believe births a discussion which is even more primary than medication/no medication - namely - Boosting you Immune system's strength. Steps to help this can be as simple as eating right and exercising regularly, but many people do not know that just a few adjustments with their chiropractor can go a long way in improving their immune system efficiency.

What is my Immune System?

Your immune system is a vast system of biological structures and processes within an organism that protects against disease. Medicating is not the only way to improve your immune system. Chiropractic treatment, also known as sympathetic activity, releases immune regulatory cells into the blood stream, which in turn, increases the body’s defense to illness.  The sympathetic nervous system plays a large role in regulating the immune function, and those who receive chiropractic care are better equipped to fight off illness and disease as a result.

Chiropractic Care - Not Just for Pain

If you are ill, or recovering, at the moment, the misalignment of your spine may be compromising your immune system. (This may be happening whether you feel pain or not in your back or spine). This is due to a lack of immune regulatory cells being released into the blood stream. Regular chiropractic visits can assist you with maintaining a healthy immune system because chiropractic adjustments can restore the balance of your nervous system, which is responsible for all the functions in the body- including the Immune System!

If you are considering making substantial changes in your lifestyle in an effort to restore or improve your immune system, then adding chiropractic treatment is critical to your success. Along with a good diet, exercise, and getting plenty of rest, chiropractic treatment is instrumental in creating a healthier you. As a matter of fact, chiropractors are the experts in functional health and exercise. If you are not sure where to begin, I can design a total wellness program designed to increase the effectiveness of your immune system and general health overall.

Regular supportive, maintenance chiropractic adjustments can help to address spinal dysfunctions that you may not realize even exist within you, but can cause and lead to illness.  The little boost in your immune function that chiropractic care provides is a welcome benefit of an already healthy host and a huge boost if you are suffering from a cold/flu/infection or other weakened immune system situation. Join the hundreds of patients who have discovered this health benefit who come in regularly for healthful maintenance immune system enhancing chiropractic care for their whole family and make an appointment today!
